Playing with Natty Narwahl…
Ok been playing with the latest version of Ubuntu and decided to give a whirl on my daily use laptop (HP Pavillion DM3).
In the course of doing this I found some things didn’t work the way I wanted them to “out of the box” or didn’t directly support my laptop hardware (trackpad and inbuilt 3G) or my wireless printer.

Splashtop
Have to say rather impressed with this. Splashtop is a very lightweight OS which takes seconds to boot and can be installed alongside MS Windows. This is ideal if you want to very quickly access the web without having to boot Windows, you also have the option to boot Windows after you have started Splashtop. Well worth a look as it is installed via a Windows app and can be easily turned on or off at will, no special incantations with bootloaders needed ! Splashtop Inc

The piccy above is of the MB Star Bird toy I’m bringing back from the dead (of someone’s attic at least), this is an electronic toy from the late 70’s and was one of my very favourite toys as a youngster !
